Chiropractic Medicine
Overview
Chiropractic (from the Greek “cheir” + “praktikos” meaning “done by hand”) is based on the premise that the relationship between the vertebral column and the nervous system is critical to health. As a branch of the healing arts, the chiropractic approach to healthcare is holistic, treating the patient as a whole person, body and mind.
Chiropractors do not use drugs or surgery. Instead, they utilize natural therapies, including spinal manipulation. They also recommend lifestyle changes to their patients and discuss eating, exercise, and sleeping habits. When appropriate, chiropractors consult with and refer patients to other health practitioners.
CSU does not have a Chiropractic Professional program. Health Professions Advisors work with any CSU student interested in pursuing a Chiropractic program.
